Floods Keep Newport Roads Waterlogged in Arkansas
The Newport river was at 30.5 feet with two feet below the 4827 mark. Officials said White and St. Francis basins show little prospect of major property damage though planting is delayed and some replowing will be needed. All major Arkansas highways were open except 67 South of Newport still under water and likely impassable for about 10 days per Highway Department engineers.
