Plane crashes into Hoffman Estates home near O'Hare
A chartered DC-3 bound for O'Hare crashed in misty weather, killing copilot Daniel Jordan of Gary. Pilot Virgil Provost, 40, was rescued in critical condition after nearly two hours trapped in the cockpit. Twenty eight passengers escaped uninjured. the plane plowed into the Golubski home, caving in the north wall, with six residents on the second floor escaping injury.
