Prescott Kiwanis Club held its regular dinner meeting at the Broadway Hotel with Chamon Dawson Henry introducing Bill Oates who spoke about a summer vacation and displayed slides of places visited. Kiwanian Joseph Nehta of Michigan attended as a visitor and won in the raffle. Mrs. B. A. Warren led a program on Traffic Is Everyone's Problem and a session on safe driving rules followed. The Senior High PTA study group met at Home Economics Department College for a 2:30 pm session, with Mrs. Frank Hallam leading a discussion on A Liberal Education Before You Go to College and reports from Jane Harris Brenda Wilson Jana Purtle and others on student leadership and publications. The science fair plan for March 18 19 was discussed and noted by Wynne Singapres, W. C. Woosley, and many others, with Phenealopes and Pegsy Was explaining project development as part of the Southwest District Conference activities of the Arkansas Federation.
The Senior Parent Teachers Association held its March meeting Friday in the high school auditorium with President Mrs. 40 Lee presiding. Mrs. Darrell Margh, treasurer, delivered the financial statement while Mrs. Jack Robey led a devotional. The message from the state president was read by Mrs. Wayne Bley. A political passage discussed candidate Symington, noting age and experience considerations amid Democratic contenders.
Friday visitors to Little Rock included Mrs. Isy and Mrs. H Hi McKonigin among others. The Prescott Chamber of Commerce reported an honorable mention in the Arkansas Community Achievement Contest. June Hines, a Ovathily College student, stayed with her parents and hosted Julie Price of Texarkana and Betty Gray of Smackover during the weekend.
Karla hosts a light social at home with Mi pr Mrs Coy Bewoody and Mrs Horace Hale in attendance. The gathering featured casual conversation and refreshments as part of a weekend visit.
Miss Kitchens, daughter of Mrs. Max Kitchens, of Washington University in St. Louis Missouri, has been initiated into the Beta Phi honor society. The recognition places emphasis on scholastic achievement and character.
