Kashomashiri Indigenous Group First Contact by Ethnologist
Dietmar Carsten together with Campa guides reached the Kashomashiris in Peru along the Upper Amazon. The slight, graceful people live simply with leaf girdles and basic tools, hunting small animals and gathering wild fruits. Estimates place their numbers from about 500 to 2000. Carsten plans further expeditions to study their culture.
