Gales Wreck Boats Across Florida and South
A coastal storm swept the South delivering high winds from Virginia to Florida. In Florida Cedar Key flooded streets and isolated the town, while four shrimp boats sank near Fernandina and total damages were pegged at $15,000. The storm disrupted rail service and cut communications as Cape Henry to Jacksonville saw winds of 50 mph and Atlanta recorded 25 degrees with continuing freezing temperatures across the region.
