Ouachita Delays College Campaign For Funds
Ouachita College postpones its building drive to begin July 1 or later due to the Arkansas State Baptist convention debt. Officials say the college and church campaigns should not run concurrently to avoid hindering either effort. Plans call for $200,000 for new buildings and an additional $500,000 to raise the endowment to $1,000,000, with the current endowment about $40,000 supporting 324 students. President Charles D. Johnson emphasizes support for the debt campaign and the delay until the convention year ends.
