In Columbia Tennessee on March 1 two Black inmates were killed during a jail break attempt. Officials said the pair were shot after seizing a gun from the jail floor as officers moved to quell the disturbance. Deputies were wounded. martial law remained in effect with troopers deployed to seize weapons.

Mr and Mrs Cloud Kenyon and their four year old daughter Sarna of Falls Pa were injured when their car crashed seven miles out on highway 67 toward Fulton flyout on Thursday afternoon They were treated at Dulia Chester hospital and released that night The Kenyons were en route to Glendale to be with Mrs Kenyon's critically ill mother Mrs Sara Dwyer The driver blamed traffic meeting conditions for the accident and praised Southern hospitality from Ark responders.
