Hereford cattle expansion aids Arkansas cotton belt
In southwest Arkansas the region sees over 500 head of purebred Hereford cattle as cotton farmers partner with University of Arkansas extension agents to trial beef cattle demonstrations. The program aims to provide cash income, market feed crops, and surplus hay and corn sales while building feeder calf markets for grain belt farms. County extension plans 1942 beef demonstrations covering all production phases.
