Kidney transplant not successful in Arkansas case
Umber to Enrico Soto a 20 year old Costa Rican died today without the planned kidney transplant at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. Autopsy planned. Soto arrived three weeks earlier in the U S for the operation and was to receive a kidney from his father Umberto Soto.

Missionary Girls Aid Primitive Tribes Near Khe Sanh
Two young missionaries, Eugenia Johnston of New York and Nancy Costello of Australia, live in a bamboo house near a village at Khe Sanh. They work with illiterate tribes to develop alphabets, texts, and literacy and have joined the Summer Institute of Linguistics and the Wycliffe Bible Translators. They fundraise and study jungle survival, living under guard by local villagers and a US Army base nearby.

One Injured in Accident Here
Deputy Sheriff Herbert Griffin’s car collided with a second vehicle driven by Mrs. H. W. Hatcher on Country Club road yesterday. Hatcher sustained a neck injury and was transported to a local hospital by Oakcrest ambulance. Griffin escaped injury. Officers Burke and Rowe reported the Hatcher car was struck from behind. Griffin’s car was heavily damaged and Hatcher’s only slightly damaged.

American Planes Pound Ammo Depots Near Hanoi
Forty six American aircraft bombed the Ban Nuoc Chieu ammunition depot 80 miles west northwest of Hanoi. The strike involved 12 F105 Thunderchiefs 8 F4C Phantoms and 26 escorts. Twenty two buildings were destroyed seven damaged by 45 tons of bombs and rockets. The mission lasted about 40 minutes with no enemy air activity reported and all planes returning safely. A separate note reported a B57 Canberra bomber lost near Vinh with two missing crewmembers.
