The National Weather Service reports the beginning of summer with partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures through Saturday. There is a slight risk of thunderstorms in the northwest tonight and about a 20 percent chance of precipitation overall.
The extended outlook forecasts scattered rain chances Sunday with a cooling trend starting Sunday. Highs today and Saturday are in the low 90s, with overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Temperature readings from Pine Bluff El Dorado Texarkana Fayetteville Harrison Jonesboro Memphis Little Rock and Fort Smith range from 67 to 75 with no rain statewide in the past 24 hours. An experiment station report shows a high of 93 and a low of 72 over 94 hours ending Friday 7 a.m.
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Charles R. Jones, Trustee sue Tracie Dunn Jr and Sarah Lee Dunn in No F-74-91. Defendants must appear within thirty days to answer the complaint, with the court seal dated June 11, 1974. Notices run June 21, 28 and July 5, 1974.

Bloodmobile Chairman Haskell Jones has contacted about 100 volunteers for June 24 and 25 efforts at the First Baptist Church Youth Fellowship Hall Third and Walnut. The group includes Unity and Garrett Memorial Churches with help from Anna P Strong Club B and PW Club Cotillion Farm Bureau Women Junior Auxiliary and Senior Scouts. The goal is 210 pints two days, about 105 daily, with 12 noon to 6 pm hours, and an estimated 45 minute donation time.
Proposals including Medicaid qualification adjustments and about 1 million for expanded prescription drug services were discussed. A stipulation favored generic drugs certified by the UAMC as substitutes for brand names. The council initially supported a new SRS Department employee but later made no recommendation. Senators Streett and Womack were humorously linked to the Pryor administration.
London AP reports Britain's minority Labour government suffered its third consecutive defeat in parliament. Prime Minister Harold Wilson weighs calling a general election this summer to gain a clear Labour majority while Labour factions urge action. Key losses included a motion on a lottery bill and a bid to nationalize industries.
President Nixon amended a June 8 declaration to include Benton, Columbia and Union counties in Arkansas as major disaster areas Gov. Dale Bumpers said Thursday. The added counties face more than 11 million dollars in damage from torrential rain and flash floods earlier this month, enabling federal and state assistance for crops, businesses, schools, and individuals.
Sergeant William R. Clark of Hope Police Department and Lt. Kenneth W. Rogers of the Arkansas State Police along with Captain Norton B. Mallett of Little Rock Police were among nearly 250 officers completing 12 weeks of executive training at FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia. FBI officials noted diverse representation from all states and over 50 countries with about 8,173 total graduates to date.
Atty. Gen. Jim Guy Tucker is hospitalized at Baptist Medical Center with a high fever from an infection likely linked to ulcerated colitis. He traveled to Washington recently and expects discharge within a week after entering June 10. The fever did not respond to medication.

Greene County Grand Jury probing alleged irregularities by law enforcement officials will reconvene Monday after adjourning Thursday due to a juror relative's death. A Ouachita County sheriff's spokesman said Alice Clements, who testified Tuesday, is not employed by the sheriff's department.

Stan Parris former Hope High School coach will preach his first sermon at First Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Sunday. He also serves as youth director for the summer and will enter Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth this fall. The church invites all Hope residents and his former students to attend.
