The extended outlook forecasts scattered rain chances Sunday with a cooling trend starting Sunday. Highs today and Saturday are in the low 90s, with overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Temperature readings from Pine Bluff El Dorado Texarkana Fayetteville Harrison Jonesboro Memphis Little Rock and Fort Smith range from 67 to 75 with no rain statewide in the past 24 hours. An experiment station report shows a high of 93 and a low of 72 over 94 hours ending Friday 7 a.m.

Bloodmobile Volunteers Rally For June Drive In Town

Bloodmobile Chairman Haskell Jones has contacted about 100 volunteers for June 24 and 25 efforts at the First Baptist Church Youth Fellowship Hall Third and Walnut. The group includes Unity and Garrett Memorial Churches with help from Anna P Strong Club B and PW Club Cotillion Farm Bureau Women Junior Auxiliary and Senior Scouts. The goal is 210 pints two days, about 105 daily, with 12 noon to 6 pm hours, and an estimated 45 minute donation time.

Nixon adds three Arkansas counties to major disaster list

President Nixon amended a June 8 declaration to include Benton, Columbia and Union counties in Arkansas as major disaster areas Gov. Dale Bumpers said Thursday. The added counties face more than 11 million dollars in damage from torrential rain and flash floods earlier this month, enabling federal and state assistance for crops, businesses, schools, and individuals.

FBI National Academy Class 97 graduates at Quantico

Sergeant William R. Clark of Hope Police Department and Lt. Kenneth W. Rogers of the Arkansas State Police along with Captain Norton B. Mallett of Little Rock Police were among nearly 250 officers completing 12 weeks of executive training at FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia. Arkansas Attorney General Tucker Hospitalized for Fever

Atty. Gen. Jim Guy Tucker is hospitalized at Baptist Medical Center with a high fever from an infection likely linked to ulcerated colitis. He traveled to Washington recently and expects discharge within a week after entering June 10. The fever did not respond to medication.
