Child Returned To His Mother In Murder Case
A Pulaski circuit judge ordered the Welfare Department to return 9 year old Richard New to his mother Bonnie Haggenkotter of Key West Florida. The child had been a witness in the May 23 murder of his uncle Earl Coy Washam near Conway. The mother was directed to post a $2,000 bond to assure the boy's appearance at the murder trial. The twin sister of the deceased, wife of Washam, faced a first degree murder charge.

Body recovered from Spring River tragedy in Arkansas
BLACK ROCK Ark AP searchers recovered the body Monday of Jill O'Connor nine, who with her parents Mr and Mrs Edward O'Connor of Sedgwick drowned Sunday when the boat they rode capsized one mile north of here.
