Norman evacuees return home after derailment fumes

In Norman Oklahoma residents returned home after a 35 car Santa Fe freight derailment released acrid fumes over Norman and near Modre. Gulf explosion blamed on Weather Underground radicals

A Weather Underground claimed responsibility for a late Thursday explosion at Gulf Oil Corp headquarters in Pittsburgh. No injuries reported. two feet hole blown in floor, windows shattered, and seven trapped in an elevator. A warning call preceded the blast.

Protesting Queens Residents Clash Over Glover Shooting

In Queens South Jamaica hundreds of black residents protested the acquittal of Patrolman Thomas Shea for the fatal 1973 shooting of 10 year old Clifford Glover. Subpoenaed Lawmen Face Greene County Grand Jury

In Paragould Arkansas 26 of 66 witnesses summoned to testify before the Greene County Grand Jury are law enforcement officers from city, county and state units. The panel will review alleged irregularities by officers including Greene County Sheriff Jim Cox Paragould Police Chief Lloyd Hill six state troopers six Paragould police officers and seven Greene County deputies.
