The Hempstein County Fair Association executive committee unanimously voted to suspend further fair activities until Hope city council assures 60 days carnival protection. The council denied lowering the license fee and electric access for the carnival, delaying a district catalog of premiums worth over $1,000 planned for June. The committee cites inability to cover premiums without united farmer merchant and official support, while public notices discuss broader Washington banking proposals and WPA investigations.
