Good Timber and Social Notes From a Arkansas Heartland
The column opens with verse about sturdy timber and resilience, then shifts to a flurry of social news. Mrs. St. Henry and the Norton family visit Little Rock with relatives, while Mrs. Eugene Cox hosts guests from Saratoga and Hot Springs. A rehearsal dinner at North Hervey Street honors Elizabeth Evans and Lyman Armstrong. Messages recall Miss Happy Pritchard’s trip to Camp Crest, and a luncheon for Mes Chiles A. Yontz of Washington. Gift tea honorings for Miss Charlean Landers highlight summer flowers, hostesses, guests, and a long list of attendees. Social scenes continue with visitors, hosting duties, and gift displays across the local social set.
