Seventeen year old Judy Belfrey a high school junior from Sudbury was found beaten and dead in a Back Bay apartment. Boston police said she was last seen in a Combat Zone lounge with a man in his forties wearing a red blazer and blue slacks. Det Hudson noted she had recently returned from a Cape Cod bicycle trip.
Fidel Castro criticizes Richard Nixon as false and foolish and calls the Soviet Union the freest country. He says Cuba will pursue limited diplomacy with the United States and notes a plateau in relations despite a diplomat exchange. Castro recalls meeting Nixon and questions U S resilience if tested.
Sixth graders at Rutherford School organize a radiothon for Dana Smith 11 daughter of Mr and Mrs Den Smith of Hope. The event runs 1 to 6 pm Saturday on KXAR with on air appearances and donations collected for Dana's medical expenses. Checks payable to the Dene Sait Fund in care of Radio Station KXAR may be mailed or handed in.
