Arkansas insurance refunds held up by delays
State Insurance Commissioner Harvey Combs criticized Service Fire Insurance about slow refunds to Arkansas customers. The New York insurer overcharged some policyholders by misplacing them in the wrong premium bracket and mailed 4,788 forms to determine overcharges, having already allocated $48,000 to 1,635 persons. Memphis CIT office reports about 25,000 policies in Arkansas. Combs urged faster mailing of forms and refunds.
