North Little Rock John White, 17, was shot to death early Thursday by a policeman as he and two companions left a grocery store. Police said the youths were in a car believed stolen. The incident occurred after a shower of bullets as they emerged from the store.
T. M. Honea, previously principal at Spring Hill school, has been elected Fulton principal for the next term by the Fulton school board. Other teachers elected were Pauline Weaver, Mrs. Jack Johnson, and Laura Wilson. Two vacancies will be filled later.
Conway Ark May host the annual pastors school at Hendrix College from June 6 to 1. It is organized by the general board of Christian Education and the Little Rock and North Arkansas Conferences. Noted educators and preachers will teach church administration and Christian education. The lineup features Dr James J Vance Bishop Hoyt M Dobbs and Dr A W Beagen with Hendrix faculty members including G G Davidson C J Greene Robert W Goodloe Clem Baker Ora Minor Paul W Quillian Nat R Griswold and C M Reyes.
Perryton Texas police searched for two missing children after J M Cone 41 was found with two pistol wounds to the chest in his home garage. Cone died at a hospital a coroner ruled death by own action. Relatives said the children J M Cone Jr 9 and Vernon Cone 6 went out with their father Tuesday night and did not return. Cone recently sold his radiator repair shop.
