Funeral services were held May 26 for David B Harrell age 83 who died at his home in Fort Worth Texas He is survived by his wife five sons and eight daughters and no brothers J K and J W Harrell of Fulton Ark died a brother of Fulton men and was echoed in local obituaries

A B25 bomber en route from McChord Field to Panama City crashed between two houses south of Lowry Air Force Base. Four men died and four were injured, including a Woman's Air Force member. The plane stalled on takeoff after refueling and exploded near a parked car. identities were withheld. One injured was in critical condition. the incident disrupted nearby residents.
The Navy asks Congress to allow disposal of 107 old vessels including two pre Pearl Harbor Tennessee class cruisers 10 escort carriers and the carrier Enterprise plus a dozen submarines many amphibious craft and other landing ships all in reserve mothballed status. Undersecretary Gates sent letters to Nixon and Rayburn proposing sale to friendly governments scrap or sinking at sea as needed for economic reasons.
The Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Aviation Committee voted to ask Trans-Texas Airlines to file with the Civil Aeronautics Board for permission to operate a Little Rock to St. Louis route. The plan would include Jonesboro and other east Arkansas cities, with committee chair Joe Ledbetter guiding applications.

David Leon Everett, 25, a former employee of a Pine Bluff paper company, was charged with first degree murder in the death of T. O. Alvis, a 67 year old used car dealer. Alvis was found shot and beaten near Pine Bluff on May 1 after earlier robbery and assault charges. Everett was arrested near Carino, NL, while driving a automobile Alvis had taken to demonstrate to a prospective buyer.
The Ohio Supreme Court upheld the 1954 bludgeon murder conviction of Dr. Sam Sheppard, affirming a life sentence and dimming his chances for freedom. The 5-2 decision rejected most of his alleged-trial-errors claims including venue changes amid Cleveland publicity and other contentions raised in his appeal. He remains in Ohio State penitentiary awaiting the U S Supreme Court's further action.

State tax collections for the first 11 months of the fiscal year reached 103,599,784 dollars with a projected year total exceeded by eight million, according to Revenue Commissioner J. Orville Cheney. General revenues totaled 58,422,864, up about 4,400,000 from the prior year. Funds support public schools welfare the University of Arkansas and many state departments and institutions.

Negotiations resume in New York next Wednesday with a package featuring wage increases, layoff pay, higher insurance benefits, and premium pay for weekend work. The total cost of the package has not been revealed.
Admiral Arthur W. Radford urged graduates to think and act as a unit in the armed forces. He did not address interservice rivalry. Among 674 graduates, 454 joined the Navy, 169 the Air Force, and 51 the Marine Corps.
