Ohio State coach Karow loses top players to pro contracts
Marty Karow, OSU baseball mentor since 1951, routinely sees stars depart early for pro deals. His 1966 NCAA champion team and ace Steve Arlin, likely earning around $100,000, illustrate a pattern as scouts praise Arlin’s fastball and curve. Philadelphia and other clubs pursue several of Karow’s star players despite their remaining college eligibility.
