Alaska Purchase Lie The Story Of Seward Folly
In 1867 Secretary of State William H. Seward arranged the $7 200 000 Alaska purchase from Russia. Critics called it a frozen wilderness but Alaska grew into a resource rich land with gold silver copper fishing and furs contributing to a booming economy. Population rose from about 10 000 to 60 000 by 1936 and beyond. A 1909 US stamp commemorated the acquisition. Another Dollar Saved is a Hope Star weekly phrase tied to grocery ads.
