GeWitt Mackenzie argues victory in Russia might hasten Allied invasions but warns complacency is dangerous. He stresses the need for a swift Western Front before Hitler consolidates gains, with potential for a major bombing offensive to degrade German war capacity and blunt the Russian front.
In southeast Arkansas two 10000 acre camps will house about 20000 Japanese evacuees, most citizens, under War Relocation Authority oversight. They will farm land, pay taxes, and form local governments, with work on fields and trades. after the war evacuees will be returned to the west coast.
The column argues Hitler must access new resources to repair his war machine and improve odds of victory. If he reaches them he could sever Allied supply lines and isolate Russia, cutting Soviet grain and air fuel in the Caucasus and threatening the Middle East. Allies still have a chance to counter the offensive though.

Fayetteville July 3 47 year old Joseph Wright of West Fork was struck while repairing a tire by a hit and run driver. Wright died today in a local hospital as Sheriff Arthur Davidse reported no clues about the driver's identity.
Lieutenant Colonel David Henley ACP TC instructor at Ouachita College Arkadelphia was assigned as the first regular army instructor to the guard training staff. Guard commander Hendrix Lucke said additional instructors would be added as they become available.
Berkeley, July 8 A story says Gen Jonathan L Wain Wright surrendered personally to a Japanese officer who was his West Point classmate. The officer appointed Wright boss of the American prison camp at Baguio. Merchant Jan Marsman, who escaped Hongkong, provides the account and cites Philippine sources for the tale.
