New U S White House stamp to debut July 11
Stamp news reports the £41/6 cent White House stamp of the new U S regular series will go on first day sale July 11. It shows the south front of the White House and is printed in ebony gray ink by rotary process in sheets of 100. First day covers require over 10 addressed envelopes to the Washington DC postmaster with payment for stamps and a pencil stamp-count note. First day sales figures for the 3 cent Jefferson and other issues are noted, along with other colonial stamps and the ongoing stamp varieties from the British colonies since George VI’s coronation.
