Louis McBride a 36 year old Clark county negro was electrocuted at the state penitentiary for the murder of Will McLain railroad section foreman at Gurdon. He went to the chair after being strapped by Warden Todhunter and walked there quietly following a quarrel over seniority as a section laborer.

Acting on a tip, Hope officers captured three white men M Stanley Thomas Burns and Milo Sheppard a 50 gallon copper still and 14 gallons of corn liquor ten miles south of Hope on the Lewisville highway around 1130 Thursday. Burns and Stanley were found guilty in a municipal hearing and bound over to the grand jury with $500 bonds each. Sheppard was found not guilty and released. The still and whisky were taken to Hope and four barrels of mash were destroyed at the scene. Arresting officers were Frank Turner C E Baker and C A Shipp.
