Integration urged for mentally retarded students nationwide
A joint Canadian U S study released in Washington and Toronto urges placing mentally retarded children in mainstream education rather than separate schools. It calls re evaluating special class programs, expanding staff by at least 15 000 teachers and 50 percent more professionals in U S institutions, and merging disability services into broader community supports. The report notes attitudinal changes and lower education requirements to ease the aide shortage. The couple will live in Bossier City. the groom works for the Bossier City School Board and Mrs Kennedy for South Central Bell.
