Ant-Climax In Cronin's Senators Battled Yankees Defeat

A seven to six loss to Cleveland near the end costs Joe Cronin and the Washington Senators a chance at league leadership. Al Thomas started strong, Johnson’s Indians tied in the fifth as Washington led into the eighth. Russell walked in the tying run after Cronin maneuvered the infield, then the decisive walk and two-run rally followed. Cronin protested, but the game hinged on a called ball four.

The writer mocks the figure and cites a schoolboy calculation showing the per person yearly spend would be 23 46 dollars for 120 million Americans. He condemns the article as filth and calls for accountability. He notes Hempstead county residents and church leaders who signed the Welsh petition seeking fair chances.
