Edith Ronne Land Named After Antarctic Explorer Wife
In 1946 to 1948 Edith Ronne, wife of Capt Finn Ronne, survived the Antarctic winter with her husband. A region is named Edith Ronne Land in her honor. A separate note explains cardinals do not migrate south in winter and often depend on feeding stations in harsh seasons.
