Arson Charge Filed Against 75 Year Old Benton Man

Accidents in State Take Wives of 8
Eight persons died in Arkansas accidents last week across traffic drownings and other incidents. A Des Arc 27 year old highway worker drowned after leaping from a 72 foot suspension bridge into the White River. Edward Dunelew, 22, and his wife were pulled from the Mississippi River near West Memphis. he drowned after attempting a rescue. Two Friday deaths occurred in a head on collision near Fort Smith, Mrs. Sam Bowman and Mrs. Blanche Vincent. Additional fatalities included Mrs. Josephine Kopperod killed in a hit and run near Little Rock, Tommy Fincher and James Belin in a Jersey area crash, bicyclist Larry Tinegar, and Mrs. Buna Loveless in Monticello. In total, ten traffic deaths occurred during the week, plus three drownings, four aviation fatalities, and one tractor accident.

Runaway Spy Tries to Kill Self on Plane
Dr. Robert A Soblen, a two year old psychiatrist and Soviet spy, attempted suicide aboard an Israeli airliner returning to New York after being refused political asylum in Israel. He slashed his wrists with a steak knife and was rushed to hospital. He survived the self inflected injuries, received blood transfusions, and was reported out of immediate danger though too weak to travel.
