Imported cuff links trigger strict UK Firearms Act permit
Michael Levy, 36, finally wears Americans made cuff links after a three month customs ordeal. He required an import permit, firearms certificate, Board of Trade clearance, police inspection, and lawyer. The police noted the links fall under the Firearms Act of 1997 and Levy must renew the permit. The silver links cost $17 and doubled in price due to the process. Make Home a Tough Nut For Housebreakers to Crack
A home can never be totally burglar proof. Burglars seek the line of least resistance, so strengthen entry points first. Install deadlocks, avoid easily tampered spring locks, and secure doors, windows, and ladders. Use double cylinder locks on doors with large windows and consider exterior-accessible door chains and newer bolt designs for enhanced protection. Burglar alarms cost money but are worth it when properly installed.
Alarm systems for home security explained
An expert notes that a home alarm system is a good investment if the house sits idle. Systems can run on power or batteries and are strongest when using both with batteries as standby. A burglar tends to strike where the effort is least, though entries can be made nearly anywhere. Urban skunk sighting in Wichita: Betty Hale saw five young skunks parade from a doorway at night.
