No Extension of License Thursday

LITTLE ROCK The State Department of Revenue spends about 400 a day to serve thousands of applicants for 1935 vehicle license tags who stay away. Commissioner Earl Wiseman says 8,500 motorists and truck owners in Pulaski County alone have not yet obtained tags and the last day to do so without penalty is Thursday. He notes the earlier extension at the request of the state came with a gentleman’s agreement that no further extension would be allowed as overhead is heavy. After Thursday every applicant must pay the penalty in addition to the license price. The penalty is 2 for the first 10 days and 3 thereafter, and may exceed the license price.
