Lend lease fed 1942 food share shows high US reliance

Washington reports that in 1942 the lend-lease program took 10 percent of national exports and 23.1 percent of cheese, 9.8 percent of pork, and 3.2 percent of edible fats and oils. E. R. Stettinius Jr. told Congress the program for 1943 will claim even larger shares while noting figures exclude supplies to American forces.
