DeAnr elon Livingston and Miss Hess along with Mr and Mrs Albert Ross from near Locksburg visited relatives at Ms aunt and uncle E M Boyett. They returned with Miss Edna Tickers. Ola Lloyd came home after an extended Oklahoma visit. Many from the community helped with a party at Mr and Mrs Johnsartfield. Henry shows improvement. Stophs family moved in. Several attended a Hope cooking school. O F Lloyd is on the sick list. George and Ollis McCorkle and J M Boyett were in Hope on business. Jessie and Roy Burke also visited there. J M Arnold and Miss Billie Arnold returned from Little Rock. Marjorie Samuel is improving.
Rain caused Old Liberty church services to be postponed to the third Sunday in February. Miss Lela Hicks visited Columbus last week while Alton and Wade Gilbert traveled to Texarkana. Miss Elyven Harrison stays with Mrs. J. B. Hicks and Mrs. Neal remains on the sick list. Anice Martin visited Washington folks Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hicks visited Frank Shearer Sunday night. Mrs. Gearld Gilbert is ill. Sunday school is at 9:45 each Sunday with all invited.
Rain forces Hickory Shade Sunday school and prayer meeting to be postponed. The community sees numerous visits among families including the Wilsons Alten Carnes Ellison Rogers Willis and Brown households. Regular preaching by Bro. Rister remains scheduled, with the public invited.
Several influenza cases are reported in the community. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Garrison have moved to Waterloo. Mrs. Albert Billingsley and children Marion Wan and Cora Stoll visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jove Mosley. A party hosted by Miss Polly Moseley was enjoyed by all. Bayle Learh and children of Gordon visited sister Finis Butler and Mr. Buller last week. O. E. Poster and family hosted or visited at the Mosley home. Evel Gulley Jr spent Saturday night with friends at Cale. Ben Festus and Cephus Bearden of Chichester were dinner guests of C. Foster’s family last week. There is talk of capping student rates and auto speeds to curb rising costs, with possible slower manufacturing caps ahead.
