Escapee Still at Large From Arkansas Prison Farm

Stanley Nash, 22, of Pine Bluff, escaped while on a work detail at Cummins Prison Farm in Arkansas. Nash was serving a three year sentence from Jefferson County for grand larceny. authorities said he remained at large early today.

Derailment at Stephens Damages New GM Cars and Trucks

Three Cotton Belt freight cars derailed near Stephens Arkansas Sunday night. No injuries reported. The cars carried new General Motors cars and trucks en route to South Arkansas and Texas after a GM strike settlement. Gun thefts investigated at Ace Hardware store

In Pordyce Arkansas the FBI and State Police probe the burglary at Ace Hardware. About $7,000 in guns and $2,000 in ammunition were stolen, with about $800 taken from the safe. Entrance was gained through a skylight, according to Benny Roark, owner of the store.
