Jett B Graves Class potluck January 25 at Fay James home with co hosts. P E O Chapter AB meets January 25 at Mrs Frazier’s. Cosmopolitan Club January 25 at George Lalentine home. Hope Hempstead Audubon Club meets January 25 in bank community room with Charles Gardner Texarkana speaker. January 26 Hope Junior Auxiliary meets 10 am at bank, Paisley PTA Study Course 1 30 pm at Mrs Willhite’s. January 27 Alter Society benefit game night 7 30 Catholic Hall. potluck bridge lunch at Hope Country Club noon. Daffodil Garden Club hosted January 20 with speaker Lloyd Guerin on Art and Flowers. Dessert Bridge and Flower Show planned for March 10. Guests and members attend.

The Sprouts Junior Garden Club gathered in the Garland School auditorium on Wednesday afternoon January 19 with Mrs. Hillman Keen and Mrs. Crow from the Gardenia Garden Club as sponsors. Dr. Herbert Rogers spoke on bird protection with color slides as students recited pledges and sang America the Beautiful before officers were announced and refreshments served.

Hope Country Club plans new clubhouse and history review
The Hope Country Club, 30 years old, plans a new clubhouse to begin construction soon at about 110000 dollars. It will include a steam room and ballroom, relocate southwest of the current clubhouse, with some golf course changes. The club has 179 members, with R. M. LaGrone Jr. as the first president and several past officers noted by Mitch La Grone at the Hope Rotary Club.
