Good Collection Loans Predicted for Arkansas Families
LITTLE ROCKPending tabulation of complete collection figures for Ate scont and A M Rogers state director for the Resettlement Administration predicted that repayment of loans to about 17,008 rehabilitation clients in Arkansas during the 1935 program will exceed all prior estimates and prove the grant of supervised loans to worthy farm families financially sound and socially desirable. Rogers noted good crops and stored food for winter, most subsistence loans repaid, and capital loans repaid over five years with liens on livestock and tools. He explained the RA supervised loans and that the program helped remove farmers from relief rolls without being a relief agency. Accurate figures on 1935 collections were expected within two weeks.
