Bonding delays stem from technicalities, with Page negotiating several companies. The attorney general's opinion keeps Leonard in office until a bond is posted or 10 days pass, after which the governor may declare vacancy and appoint a treasurer. Total office funds amount to 6 057 749 90. vault cash 82 690. Leonard is bound by a 200 000 bond to Fidelity and Surety Company of New York and remains liable until balances are verified by the comptroller.
