Store owner shot to death near North Little Rock
Alfred Joel Gertsch, 41, of North Little Rock, was shot to death about 6 am as he prepared to open a grocery hardware store east of the city. Police say he got out of his car with a money bag and a pistol, was hit by a shotgun blast from behind the front corner of the store, and died at the scene. An undetermined amount of money was taken. the investigation continues.
