U S Bombers May Be Involved In Indochina Fighting

North Vietnamese controls passes cut Phnom Penh from Kompong Som causing fuel shortages in the capital. A South Vietnamese armored column pressed north toward Stung Chhay after breaking a Vietnamese pocket, the Saigon government said with 31 enemy killed and no Vietnamese fatalities. Marines moved toward Pich Nil heights as observers expect a hard battle above the highway. The U S Command tallied 27 American combat deaths last week with 93 wounded, the lowest in over five years, plus 27 nonhostile deaths. Total U S casualties: 44,268 killed in action since Jan 1 1961, 9,091 died of nonhostile causes, 293,612 wounded, 1,434 missing or captured. South Vietnamese headquarters reported 277 killed and 688 wounded last week.

States Mount New Push to Share Revenue

States press for funding from the federal government through Nixon's revenue sharing plan or a constitutional convention. New Jersey led with a resolution for a convention to amend the constitution to require federal tax funds for states, with officials predicting multiple legislatures would follow.

Ethics Code for Officials Introduced in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK AP Rep B D Doug Brandon of Little Rock introduced a bill in the Arkansas House to establish a code of ethics for public officials across executive legislative and judicial branches. The measure requires disclosure of business activity over 1500 in a year and any 1000 in a corporation under regulatory control, and bars officials from using their positions for personal gain or disclosing confidential state information. It covers appointed and elected officials alike.

Tug Boat Sinks on Arkansas River at Port of Dardanelle

The 75 ton tug Arkansas Traveler owned by Union Barge Lines of Pittsburg sank in about 15 feet of water after taking on water and fuel. Captain Raymond Gardner, the sole occupant, escaped unharmed. Sinking occurred in the Arkansas River near Dardanelle. cause not yet determined and did not block other traffic.
