Governor Seeks Tax Reform and Rural Aid Plan

Paralysis Campaign Aids Polio Patients In Arkansas

One Dead In Washington Hotel Fire

Washington January 14 One person was killed and another injured in a four alarm fire at the Potomac Hotel near the White House. The dead man was identified as QO Hickox of Cleveland 9 Harold Sill 49 a Potomac Hotel resident on the fifth floor was admitted to Emergency Hospital in good condition. Fire confined to the top floor after about an hour while most guests were evacuated from the 45 room building located on Pennsylvania Avenue west of the presidential mansion. Sixty people were registered as occupants when the fire broke out.

Rice Markets Generally Firm During Past Week

The Agriculture Department reported rice markets firm last week with demand moderate and export permits slowing trade.
