Flying Arrow Surrenders Blockade Run Mission

Strike at Arkansas Gazette Ends Dispute Yet Continues

In Little Rock on January 12, a Gazette strike persists over union status of circulation staff. Labor Commissioner Call says negotiations settled the original dismissal clause, but a new issue about whether circulation employees who are Guild members are in the bargaining unit remains unresolved, with NLRB asked to study. Twenty three newswriters and photographers striked December 17, ten more circulation workers joined later, while daily editions continue and a picket line stands outside the building.
