Nashville News Change of Ownership Welcomed
Louis Graves named new owner of the Nashville News succeeding the Ferguson family who have published the paper since 1916. Graves, a Texarkana native and former Texarkana Gazette sports and city editor, served as Air Corps captain in World War II and moves to Nashville with a history of solid community stewardship. The piece notes industry tensions over newsprint prices and unions, contrasting publishers with print costs and steady production by paper mills nationwide.
