Permanent Registration Act Planned in Arkansas Special Session
The Arkansas Committee on Voter Registration voted to sponsor an initiated act for permanent voter registration in the November general election if the legislature approves a bill it deems unacceptable. Led by Rep. Hardy Croxton, the group proposes a model registration bill with county clerk control and no party designation, though passage is viewed as unlikely. The panel will present the measure during the upcoming special session, differing from the Legislative Council bills mainly on registrar designation.
