Austin, Feb 21. Attorney General Price Daniel filed an anti trust suit against major oil refiners and marketers alleging they worked to fix and maintain uniform gasoline prices in Texas. Defendants include Arkansas Fuel Oil, Cities Service, Continental Oil, Full Oil, Humble Oil, Magnolia Petroleum, Standard Oil of Texas, The Texas Company, Sinclair Refining, and Phillips Petroleum. The petition claims eight firms conspired after Phillips raised crude prices Sept 24 to keep crude prices down to protect abnormally high profits, with all but Phillips and Sinclair accused of colluding to prevent a general rise in Texas crude prices.
