New program to lower clothing prices disclosed

Washington on February 21, Ecconomic Stabilization Chief Chester Bowles announced a plan to push cheaper textiles. The Office of Price Administration would adjust prices to benefit textile mills and spur production, while the Civilian Production Administration would reserve priority supplies for garment makers.
