Hogs 7,500 head, moderate activity, heavier weights 180 lb plus. Prices around 25.25 to 26.50 for 220 to 230 lb and 24.75 to 25.95 for 270 to 280 lb, light weights 25 to 50 lower. Sows steady to weak, boars 16.00 to 20.00. Cattle 2,300 head, calves 700, steers and heifers steady to higher, commercial and good steers 19.25 to 21.50, yearlings 22.00, cows active 11.50 to 12.50, bulls 12.00 to 14.00. Sheep 400, lambs active, steady to higher, prime lambs 22.00 to 22.60, some up to 23.00, aged sheep steady, slaughter ewes 3.00 to 5.00.

Texarkana Stars Suspended Over Vanderbilt Tryout Trip

Louisiana Firm Submits Low Bid for Dikes

Louisiana firm Cuda Jr of West Monroe submitted the apparent low bid of 51.00 for constructing dikes on the north bank of the Arkansas River about 17 miles downstream from Marianna. Little Rock District engineer Joe Clema said the contract will be awarded after evaluating 10 bids.
