Yancey Reynolds arranged a program where Tom Taylor, district biologist, screened a film titled A Way of Life. The film argued predators regulate ecosystems and that wild predators are more effective than humans. Guests included Carol Free, John King, Gerald Keith, Dorsey McRae. Arkla Gas says another hearing would be pointless

Arkla Gas Co said no further Public Service Commission hearing is needed on its rate increase. It argued consumers already had ample opportunity to speak at the Jan. 15 hearing and that a second hearing would repeat objections. The company noted the average rise is about 4.7 cents per day per customer, with some paying more. It also announced Arkla Exploration Co drilled a fourth gas well in Ellis County, Oklahoma, estimated at 15 million cubic feet daily. a fifth well is under drilling. Sheffield Nelson said a special allowance lets customers pay January bills in two or three installments, but no new plan is in force.
