The Blevins Junior Class will stage its annual play on Tuesday night March 3 at 8 30. The story centers on the Kennedys who live on a state highway in Ohio and run a midsize diner and garage. Hempstead County officials order a special election in Nashville Special School District No 1 to approve a building fund tax of 0.7 mill for 1943 1959 and 0.6 mill for 1960 1963 to back an $18 000 bond issue payable over 20 years 10 months. Election set for March 1942 from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the School Building in Bingen with funds possibly used for other school purposes if surplus remains.
Nashville Special School District No 1 of Howard and Hempstead Counties Arkansas adopts a resolution listing total indebtedness on February 25 1941 as 12000 dollars with 11500 dollars unpaid and outstanding non bonded debt. It orders publication in Nashville News and The Hope Star and explains review rights in chancery court within 30 days. certification by secretary A T Henry dated February 19 1942.
The Red Cross Show Benefit in Prescott supports the Nevada County War Relief Fund. Productions at the Gem Theater include Great Gun starring Laurel and Hardy with matinee and evening showings. Admission 10 and 25 cents. Concurrent school drive by Pacent Teachers Association boosts ticket sales. All proceeds aid war relief. theater donates rental and facilities.
In Fort Knox a ceremony honored Pvt. Robert H. Brooks, the first armored forces casualty in the current war, killed in the Philippines the day after Pearl Harbor.
