Francie complains for six loaves and a pie not crushed. The counter man gives her six loaves and a rejected pie for two dimes. She drops a loaf, hurries home, then follows Neeley who heads with his gang to a ball lot. Francie insists it is a free country. The scene ends as she’s ignored.
