Senate Move to Abolish Arkansas Tax Commission

The Arkansas Senate voted to abolish the Tax Commission created in 1849 and transfer its duties to the Public Service Commission. Michigan Fire Rages in State Office Building

A major fire in Lansing raged for about 20 hours in Michigan's capital, damaging the eight story State Office Building and paralyzing much of state government.
