Co-Op Banks Must Meet U S Terms

Arkansas State Bank Commissioner Marion Wasson said he will not seek rehearing after the Arkansas Supreme Court decision. Co operative banks cannot operate after June 6 1934 without supervision by state or federal banking authorities under the Glass Steagall act. The ruling held the 1933 law applied only to banks under supervision and not to co operatives. Wasson argued the injunction aimed to stop co operatives from proliferating and posing a risk to legitimate banking.
