Former Arkansas lawmaker Allen D. Shelton dies at 75
Allen D. Shelton, who represented Poinsett County in the Arkansas House from 1925 through 1930, died in a Hot Springs hospital Sunday at age 75. He later served as city attorney in 1947 and 1958, then opened a private law practice.

Hope Guard Unit paid $25,676 in 1966 payroll
The 55 members of the Army National Guard unit at Hope Com pany B First Battalion 153rd Infantry received wages totaling $25,676.64 in 1966 including pay for 12 weekend drills and the two week summer camp at Fort Chaffee in August.
